My Story

I’m a Toronto-based children’s author and poet whose writing blends emotional depth, lyrical precision, and a deep respect for young readers. I grew up in Mimico, Ontario, surrounded by stories—both the ones on my bookshelf and the ones I quietly scribbled into notebooks. Poetry was my first creative home: a trusted outlet for big feelings, small wonders, and the quiet power of language. Over the years, it became the foundation of my storytelling voice.

My work has been published by the Poetry Institute of Canada, and I’ve been recognized in national contests for my expressive and evocative verse. I’m also a proud member of The Writers’ Union of Canada—selected through a juried panel of industry professionals—which affirmed my commitment to craft and the literary community I love being a part of.

Today, I channel my lifelong love of poetry into writing children’s books—stories in rhyme that don’t talk down to kids but speak directly to them with honesty, curiosity, and care. My writing is intentional and thoughtfully structured, with carefully chosen stanzas, rhythm, and flow—designed to delight the ear, spark the imagination, and resonate on a deeper level.

A lot of my inspiration comes from dogs. Their joy, loyalty, and unfiltered personalities often shape my characters and remind me of the everyday magic in being unapologetically yourself. I also have a deep appreciation for the little things—a great cappuccino, a golden-hour walk, or the beauty of a well-placed line—and I bring that same attention to detail into everything I write.

With stories like The Incredibly Radical Bradical, The Super Brave and Really Tough Fluffenpuff, (coming soon!) and The Very Ache-y Annie (coming soon!), I aim to write books that help kids feel seen, understood, and uplifted—books that are playful on the surface but carry something meaningful underneath.

Because to me, a great story isn’t just heard—it’s felt. And that’s the kind I love to tell.
